The Conjuring (2013)/ The Conjuring 2 (2016) - Directed by James Wan

The Conjuring is a typical supernatural scare filled horror series. Complete with Sinister and Insidious. The Conjuring is creepy, nightmarish, tense, gross, unsettling and scary.


Ed and Lorraine Warren were paranormal investigators and demonologist in the 1970's.


The Conjuring tells the story of the Warren's. The Conjuring is based in 1970, the Perrons and their five daughters move into a secluded farmhouse, where a supernatural presence lingers. Events soon escalate after the Warrens discover the house's gruesome history.

The Conjuring 2 is based in 1977, Ed and Lorraine Warren travel to Borough of Enfield, North London. Where they meet Peggy Hodgson, a single mother of four, who tells the Warrens that something supernatural is possessing her daughter.


The lengthy sequel is far darker with a creepier atmosphere that combines jump scares and prolonged intense scenes that work, to get you scared.


The camera work in both films is fantastic. Wan's best directed effort. Similarly his use of sound and practical noises adds to the terrifying experience and pulls off major frights.


The acting was superb, there were some exceptionally struggling scenes that were executed excellently. The acting added layers of brilliance, making for a great experience as the viewer.
